You write the book, you pay to have the book edited, you publish the book, and you still find many problems with the editing after the fact. After you've finished writing your manuscript, it is very important that you have a real good, and I mean a real good editor on hand. I hand to pay extra to have the corrections corrected in my published book Rock, Paper, Scissors that should have been caught in the editing process. Find a good editor that knows about writing; they may mark up your manuscript like your high school English teacher, or your College professor did on your research paper but, I promise you will love the ending, especially the part about not having to spend extra money on re-editing an already paid for editing, and published book. Editing is king when writing your books.
