Tip 4

Well let’s talk about my favorite subject, EDITING. This is my favorite subject because, after I had my first book published it was still in the need of editing, why? That is a good question, I’m glad you asked. When I submitted my manuscript for publishing, the package I chose had basic editing included. After they read the manuscript, they recommended Line Editing, so I paid more to upgrade. When they finished editing the manuscript, I found it was incomplete; miss-spelled words, punctuation, etc… After I sent in some corrections a second time, I was told it would cost more. Frustrated, I published the book. After that ordeal, I sought the help of a friend, an editor, who is now my editor. You need to take your time when editing, and seek the help of those who edit for a living. Now, when you write your synopsis and send it to an agent/editor, you should know they are looking for an almost perfect, no miss-spelled words, no punctuation errors, and a grammatical error free synopsis. To submit one of these, you really need someone else to read it; the more eyes you have on your synopsis and/or manuscript the better. I’m a new author, so I have taken all the advice I could get my hands on. You have to be willing to listen and learn from those that have “been there, done that.” Editing is king when it comes to publishing your book, and submitting your synopsis. Search around for a good publishing company; Even if you find a good publishing company, you wouldn't know whom the Editor tolls until the editing stops. Like myself, good company, costly editing. I'll use their publishing, but they'll edit... "Never more." If you know someone that is an Author, Agent, English major, a good English teacher, Editor, etc… talk to them and let them scrutinize your manuscript and/or your synopsis. If you are publishing a book, it should be as perfect as possible. So get wisdom, get a good EDITOR.

Until next time
